New Democrats, Islanders, and the many friends of Leo Cheverie across Canada are deeply saddened by the passing of our friend and social justice advocate, Leo Cheverie.
Leo stood out in the crowd for his passion and advocacy for many causes including the Labour movement, environment and Indigenous issues, proportional representational and social justice.
I wish to extend my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Leo Cheverie, a passionate Islander who dedicated his life to the needs and concerns of his community, seeking a better world for all of us.
