With the announcement of the closure of the PEI Alliance for Mental Wellbeing, we wanted to take the opportunity to highlight the mental health crisis we’re seeing in this province. I’m sure we’ve all witnessed people in our communities whose mental health struggles have reached a critical level – Lack of access to mental health care is a big part of this.
The PEI NDP are committed to expanding our public healthcare system to include ALL medically necessary healthcare services, including dental, mental health, pharmaceutical, auditory, and vision care.
We also recognize that different groups are affected differently by access to health care. We commit to ensuring that no matter who you are or what your background is, you will have access to the type of healthcare you need on Prince Edward Island.
