Hi everyone, hope you’re all doing well, and what always feels like the beginning of a “new year” to me (the cost of being in education, where September is the new year) is going great for everyone!
Some news and updates:
First: And most importantly – a HOLD THE DATE announcement! Our annual general meeting (AGM) will take place on Saturday, December 5, 2026, at the Charlottetown Library Learning Center (97 Queen St., Dominion Building). Times, costs, agenda, call for resolutions or recommendations, etc. are all coming soon! But for now, put the date in your calendars and please plan to join everyone at this important meeting!
Second: No doubt you’re all also hearing “buzz” about a provincial election. When, we don’t know, but we are starting to get prepared. This won’t be the last time you hear from us about how to help (!), but for now, here are some easy ways to help out:
1) Thinking about running? Want to just talk to someone about the possibility? Get in touch! Email either info@ndppei.ca or president@ndppei.ca and we’ll be happy to talk more. We’re looking for great candidates for many districts—and there’s a process to be vetted and nominated to go through too. So don’t wait too long…
2) Fundraising. All elections cost money, as you know. If you can, please contribute to the NDP PEI so we can build our election coffers. There will also be opportunities to contribute more directly to candidates themselves, once an election is called. But for now, monies will go to the general NDP PEI fund. Check out www.ndppei.ca to join and / or donate!
